A slight ridge on the shoulder, the handle has two grooves. The neck has eight circular grooves diminishing as they reach the top. Wide trumpet shaped lip, irregular curved spout. Stained brown and grey. Chinese title: ewer NOTES ----- type: history note value: Found buried in a street of Chu-lu Hsien in the prefecture of Shun-te in Chihli. Chu-lu Hsien was destroyed by the flooding of the yellow river in the 3rd year of Ta Kwan of the Sung Dynasty 1108. Bought from Loo September 1921.
