The underside is unglazed and has a large oval ventilation hole. The rocky base is of elongated oblong shape with slight facets round the edge. At the back there is a tall tree stump with two large leaves and a berry at the top and three lower down at the top of the base. The nude, wavy-haired little boy sits with his right leg forward over the edge of the rock, and his left leg resting on top of it behind him.He supports himself on the rock with his right hand which holds the shell cup.
