  <description>
    <value>Earthenware coated with white slip, clear-glazed and decorated with glazes coloured blue, yellow, greenish-yellow, purple, reddish-brown, brown, grey, and black which are streaked and dribbled over the surface The Madonna sits on a square block on a rectangular pedestal raised on four feet moulded from the lower end of light bulbs. Her head is turned slightly to the right. Her left leg is forward with the foot flat, and her right leg is bent so that the foot rests on the toes beside the pedestal. The suckling infant boy sits on her left thigh, and she supports him with her left arm and right hand. The word 'Madonna' is painted vertically on the inside of her left calf, and is repeated larger on the block, 'Ma/do/nn/a'. The word 'bambino' is painted on the lower part of her body</value>
