Soft-paste porcelain of cream tone, moulded, and lead-glazed. The glaze has many black speckles. The circular écuelle stands on a footring. The sides curve outwards and upwards from it in a convex curve and then almost vertically to the rim. The two handles are in the shape of branches with three leaves in relief at the junctions with the body. On each side of the bowl there is a spray of chrysanthemums and foliage. The domed cover (A) has a gadrooned edge, two sprays of chrysanthamums, and a knob in the shape of a rose on a short branch with leaves. A flange on the underside fits inside the bowl. The thickly potted circular stand (B) has a gadrooned edge, and curved sides rising from a footring. The interior is decorated with two sprays of chrysanthemums.
