The cup's rim is scalloped with alternately large and small arcs from which vertical flutes run down to the footring. On one side is attached a rustic loop handle. The edge of the circular saucer is very lightly scalloped with large arcs, and has a scalloped ring round the centre to hold the footring of the cup. Both pieces are decorated in Kakiemon style with rocks, bamboo, flowering plants, and 'banded hedge' or wheatsheaf.
