It was reattributed from Longton Hall to Samuel Gilbody's factory in Liverpool by Dr Bernard Watney (see Documentation, Watney 1997). He stated that Gilbody figures have a phosphatic paste and are usually slip-cast, although 'some of the figure fragments from the site appear to be press-moulded.'
