Also inscribed 'T.B. Winter, 53 Grey Street Newcastle upon Tyne'. Original blued steel indicating hand and brass setting hand. The dial is enclosed by a flat bevelled glass set in a cast brass bezel. Modern ivorine setting hand knob. Fahrenheit thermometer with mercury in glass tube, and 12 1/8 inches silvered brass scale extending from approximately 10 to 150 degrees F, contained in a glazed walnut box. Tube: Normal siphon type, replaced. Case: Pine carcase veneered with figured walnut and with applied walnut C-scrolls.
