  <description>
    <value>The Trinity college ms. includes Chaundler's Liber apologeticus de omni statu humanae naturae, his Contention between the cities of Bath and Wells and four letters from Chaundler to Bishop Beckington. The illustrations of the Liber apologeticus form "the raison d'&#xEA;tre of the present publication." The New College ms. includes seven "collocutions" and two "allocutions" on William of Wykeham, by one of Chaundler's cholars. The four illustrations reproduced from it show Winchester College, New College, William of Wykeham surrounded by some of the benefactors and worthies of New College, and the cathedral and bishop's palace of Wells.</value>
