The cup is decorated on the front with a panel containing a woman kneeling and stretching out her hands towards a bird which is perching on a branch on a tree to the viewer's left of her.  The panel is framed by strapwork linking two kidney-shaped and two shield-shaped pale purple panels surrounded by gold and red scrolling foliage.  The handle is surrounded by a frame of gold and red scrolls and foliage, and there are gold bands round the rim and foot, and on the sides of the handle. The saucer is decorated  a four sided panel containing a lady in contemporary costume seated in a landscape with low trees on either side of her. The panel is enclosed by kidney-shaped and almost heart-shaped pale purple panels linked by gold straps and scrolls outside which are four pairs of inward scrolling foliated branches in red and gold. It was known at the Doccia factory as decoration  'alla Sassone' because Meisson was in Saxony . One of the painters known from the factory's records to have executed decoration in this style was Angiolo Fiaschi who was working at Doccia between 1738 and The pear-shaped pot stands on a low foot. The loop handle is of shallow D section with a moulded leaf at the top and a slight upward kick at the lower end. The partly covered spout is applied below a projecting moulding round the top of the pot, and has foliage in relief at its base. The flat rim has two shallow rectangular indentations. The cover is flat on top with a stepped rim, and a knob in the shape of a pear-shaped jar and cover. Underneath it has a sloping hollow cylindrical centre with two rectangular projections which fit into the indentations in the rim of the pot, and when turned to right or left, prevent the top falling off when the jug is tipped forward. \nThe sides of the pot are decorated alla sassone with two different scenes of putti mourning broken-heartedly over urns on pedestals in a garden setting, surrounded by frames comprising two pale purple kidney-shaped and two smaller heart-shaped panels linked by strapwork and scrolls in gold and red. The edges and moulded foliage on the spout and handle are gilded and there are two gold bands round the foot and two round the rim. The cover has two pale purple kidney-shaped panels flanked by scrolls in gold and red, and two concentric gold bands round the rim.
