Scope note

Ancient Near Eastern coins, especially from Judea, issued during the 1st and 2nd centuries CE; also silver or cupronickel decimal coins of Israel. For Persian coins of the 6th and 5th centuries BCE, use "sigloi"; for coins issued in Sidon and Tyre from the 4th century BCE, prefer "tetradrachms."
