Florins

Scope note

Florentine gold coins struck from 1252 until the 16th century; for similar coins issued in Genoa at the same time, use "genovinos." Use also for Hungarian gold coins introduced in the early 14th century, for Austrian silver coins of the 19th and 20th centuries, and for English two-shilling silver coins issued in the 19th century.
