Post-structuralism

Scope note

Critical theory similar to structuralism in its critique of historicism, meaning, and post-Renaissance rational philosophy, but differing by its rejection of structural linguistics as a theoretical base, emphasizing fragmentation instead, with a belief that there can be no historical progress nor any cumulative progress in knowledge.
