Autoradiography

Scope note

Process that records the location and distribution in an object of radioactive substances, or those made radioactive in order to be detected, when radiation from these substances act on a photographic emulsion placed in close contact with the object. When used on a painting, identifies areas of pigments through elemental half lives.
