Scope note

Use for the pure metallic element having symbol Cd and atomic number 48; a silver white crystalline metal, very ductile, and which can be rolled or beaten into thin sheets; resembles tin but is harder. Use also for this metal as processed and formed, usually in combination with other substances, to make objects and materials.
