Dextrine

Scope note

A type of compound obtained from starch by the action of heat, acid, or enzyme. Have strong adhesive properties and are used as paste, particularly for envelopes, gummed paper, and postage stamps, for blending with gum arabic, in pyrotechnic compositions, and in textile finishing.
