Canopies (bed components)

Scope note

Use for rooflike components suspended over the head of a bed by means of a cord attached to the ceiling; usually a cone-shaped or domed bowl with a valance all around, and with two or three curtains long enough to reach and encompass the foot of the bed. Use "testers" for rooflike components supported above the bed by posts.
