Asymmetrical knots

Scope note

Knots of rugs tied on pairs of warp strands, looping under one strand and then over and around the other, the ends of the knot coming up individually between each single warp strand to form a pile. They can be tied so that the knot ends come up either to the right or to the left of the encircled warp strands.
