Murus gallicus

Scope note

Use for Celtic late Iron Age defensive walls, generally constructed of thick lines of stones, held together and reinforced by a core of timber frames fastened with iron nails, and covered with a sloping earth rampart; sometimes faced with cut stone and topped by a parapet.
