Quays

Scope note

Use for artificial paved banks or solid landing places built parallel to and extending the shoreline to serve in the loading and unloading of vessels. For less fixed and solid structures built in similar locations and for similar purposes, use "wharves"; use "piers (marine landings)" when such lighter structures extend out over the water.
