Scope note

Small freestanding racks, poles, or stands, either plain or elaborately carved with symbols, made and used in Africa for supporting bows, with or without arrows; traditionally functioning as symbols of office for chieftains and symbols of honor for great heroes and hunters, though in some regions may be owned by any man.
