    <value>Lamps, usually of painted metal but also found in brass, with a cylindrical font in the shape of a tubular column containing a T-shaped wick tube which supports a flat wick and a rack-and-pinion wick raiser. A flat oval reservoir to the side feeds fuel to the font through a tube. Used with a cylindrical glass chimney and a painted sheet iron shade. Invented about 1800 by Count Rumford.</value>
