Cylinder desks and bookcases

Scope note

Desks and bookcases with a hinged one-piece round lid or cover that resembles a section of a cylinder and which rolls up into the desk top; chiefly made in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. For similar desks without a bookcase use "cylinder fall desks."
