Bracteates (pendants)

Scope note

Pendants in the form of discs of thin, beaten gold or silver with stamped decoration based on Roman coin or medallion prototypes or with runic inscriptions. Suspended by means of a circular attachment and intended to be worn on a thong or other support around the neck.
