Waistcoat cuirasses

Scope note

Cuirasses made in the form of a civilian doublet, consisting of two halves hinged to either side of a strip up the center of the back and fastened up the front like a waistcoat, generally with studs locked by hooks. Often they were furnished with steel imitation buttons down the front.
