Veneer saws

Scope note

Commonly defined as large frame saws whose saw web is set in the middle of a wood frame; used for cutting veneer from wood. The term also refers to a kind of backsaw with a slightly curved blade and a heavy wood back that serves as a handle. It is also a particular kind of circular saw. SALAM
