Bellows guns

Scope note

Air guns having a pair of flat bellows in the butt which are squeezed together by a spring or springs when the trigger is pressed, producing a strong blast of air to propel the projectile. They were popular in southern Germany and Austria in the 18th and early 19th centuries.
