Zitherlike chordophones of Timor, the strings of which are either of copper, strung in pairs around the tubular bamboo or wood string bearer, or cut out and raised from the string bearer itself. The tube is surrounded by a palm leaf resonator. For similar chordophones from Madagascar, use "valihas."
