Bodhráns

Scope note

Single-headed frame drums of Ireland, with a membrane of animal skin and a criss-cross arrangement of cord, sticks, or wire over the open end by which they are held with one hand; they are struck by the free hand or alternately by the knobs at each end of the stick.
