Bongos

Scope note

Small single-headed drums, Afro-Cuban in origin, with conical or cylindrical hardwood shells; they generally occur in pairs joined together horizontally, one being larger in diameter than the other. Existing in tunable and nontunable versions, they are played with the bare hands.
