Flexatones

Scope note

Idiophones invented in the 1920s consisting of a small flexible steel blade or lamella suspended in a wire frame ending in a handle. As the player waves the instrument, the blade is struck alternately on each side by wooden or rubber knobs on the end of wires fastened to the frame.
