St. Lawrence River skiffs

Scope note

Use for double-ended, lapstrake rowing boats, using a single thole pin and oar with hole to fit over it, ranging in length from 16 to 23 feet, originating in the mid-19th century on the St. Lawrence River; larger examples may have sailing rigs, and are sailed without rudders.
