An image of Miniature. Tortoise-shell box with a miniature of flowers in a stone vase on a marble slab. Redouté, Pierre Joseph (Flemish, 1759-1840). Unknown box maker. Tortoise-shell and gold with a miniature in watercolour and bodycolour on card, mounted in gilt metal and set under glass. The circular miniature depicts a pale stone vase of flowers, including heartsease, anemones, blue aster, marigolds, campanula, auricula and centifolia roses, on a marble slab. Height (whole box) 2.8 cm, diameter (whole box) 8.5 cm, 1827-1840. Acquisition: bequeathed 1973 by Henry Rogers Broughton Fairhaven.
