An image of Cup and Saucer. Cooper, Susie (British, 1902-1995). Wood & Sons Ltd (Maker), Staffordshire. Earthenware with brown and black underglaze crayon decoration on pink ground. Saucer diameter 14.4 cm, height 2 cm; cup diameter 9.5 cm, height 5.3 cm. Circa 1934-1939.
Cup: Earthenware cup, circular, convex sides, semi-circular loop handle. Decorated in brown and black crayon under dull pink glaze, on the outside with a looping pattern and on the inside with thin black and brown lines just below the rim. Underside glazed within slim foot-rim. Saucer: Earthenware saucer with deep bowl, central indentation. Decorated in brown and black crayon under dull pink glaze (slightly paler than that on the cup), on the upper side with a looping pattern inside thin black and brown lines just below the rim. Underside glazed within slim foot-rim. Legal notes: Given by Timothy Barker, son of Susie Cooper and Cecil Barker.
