Earthenware with brown and black underglaze crayon decoration on pink ground.

Earthenware with brown and black underglaze crayon decoration on pink ground.

Cup: Earthenware cup, circular, convex sides, semi-circular loop handle. Decorated in brown and black crayon under dull pink glaze, on the outside with a looping pattern and on the inside with thin black and brown lines just below the rim. Underside glazed within slim foot-rim.
Saucer: Earthenware saucer with deep bowl, central indentation. Decorated in brown and black crayon under dull pink glaze (slightly paler than that on the cup), on the upper side with a looping pattern inside thin black and brown lines just below the rim. Underside glazed within slim foot-rim.

History note: Formerly in the collection of Susie Cooper; bequeathed to her son, Timothy Barker, who gave it to the Museum.
