Gold Art Nouveau brooch, by Leopold Gautrait

An image of Jewellery/brooch/pendant. Gautrait, Léopold Albert Marin, maker (French, 1865-1937, Paris, Colmar). Three sided with a triangular loop for suspension at the top, and two 'legs' on the lower edge; detachable pin-fastening on the back. In the centre is the head of a woman in profile to right earing a peacock headdress, the tail feathers of which fan out to fill the outline, the sapphires forming the 'eyes'. On the back, engraved lines fill the peacock's outline. Has unaccessioned case not original. Gold frame, green, blue and white enamel, and green and grey translucent plique-à-jour enamel, set with two sapphires. Height, whole, 4 cm, width, whole, 3.9 cm, circa 1900. Art Nouveau.
