An image of Sculpture. Head of a Child, perhaps Christ. Production Place: East Anglia, Ely. The head is severed diagonally at the top of the neck. It faces to the front with the eyes open and mouth closed. The wavy hair radiates from the crown of the head, stopping at the sides above and round the ears, and is cut straight across the forehead. Stone, with traces of gesso, painted and gilt, height, whole, 13.0 cm, width, whole, 10.3 cm, circa 1300-circa 1400. Notes: Found in a garden at Sutton, Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire. Possibly from Ely Cathedral.
