Lady and gentleman in an arbour, Staffordshire Pottery

The gentleman has raised her skirt to reveal her right lower leg, and the lady places her hand on his as if to prevent further advances - or perhaps to encourage them? White salt-glazed off-white stoneware, moulded in parts, assembled, and salt-glazed, with brown slip eyes on the figures, height 17.8 cm, circa 1755.
