Box. Unknown maker, China. Small circular box, made from beaten silver, of a slightly convex shape with straight sides. Both the box and the cover are decorated with foliate scrolls. The pattern has been gilded and is chased on a ground of regular ring matting. The sides have been soldered to the base. Silver, chased, gilded and engraved, diameter 5.2 cm, height 1.9 cm, T’ang Dynasty (618-906).
