An image of Sculpture/relief. The Entombment of Christ. Gagini, Domenico, attributed to (Italian). Rectangular. The dead Christ is supported by a women standing behind him, and a kneeling woman on the right holds his feet. His head is dropping forwards onto his chest and his right arm hangs down at his side. Behind the kneeling woman there is an older woman who bends forward towards two seated figures, whose faces are partly obliterated. There are less clearly defined figures looking towards the group from the top right and top left of the relief. Marble stiacciato relief, carved, length 34.0 cm, height 28.0 cm, circa 1450-circa 1500. Production Note: The attribution to Gagini is disputed.
