  • Sketchbook, 1911. Raverat, Jacques Pierre (British, 1885-1925). Coverboards covered with white linen. Off white paper. Five gatherings containing the following number of folios: six (one attached to front cover); seven; six; six; six (one attached to back cover). Graphite, brown, orange and black Conté crayon with brush and grey wash on paper, height, sheet size, 306 mm, width, sheet size, 204 mm; height, coverboards, 306 mm, width, coverboards, 204 mm, 1911. Production Note: This sketchbook is filled with anatomical studies, especially limbs and torsos. There are also a limited number of figure studies of women in full skirts, landscapes with trees, diagrams as if measuring an item and pages of calculations/notes. Page 8 recto contains two inverted unfixed pastel/graphite stylised portrait style images in a pair. Page 5 recto contains a portrait thought to be Margaret Darwin.
