This sketchbook is filled with anatomical studies, especially limbs and torsos. There are also a limited number of figure studies of women in full skirts, landscapes with trees, diagrams as if measuring an item and pages of calculations/notes. Page 8 recto contains two inverted unfixed pastel/graphite stylised portrait style images in a pair. Page 5 recto contains a portrait thought to be Margaret Darwin.
