Production date: AD 1782-01 : Written when Hayley stopped off in London en route from a visit to Seward in December 1781: vol1 p 252 of his Memoirs states that "he contrived to reach his favourite southern retirement [ie: home - Eartham House in Sussex] very early in January, 1782."
