Description

Silk bookcover embroidered with polychrome silk, gold and silver thread in buttonhole, couching, satin and stem stitch with French knots.

Predominant colours are pale blue, buff, cream and pale and yellow green. On both right and left of the cover is placed a short column with in between them an oblong shape filled with diagonal network in metal thread and with tassels at the bottom. Upon each column is placed a horn containing a tall upright spray of mixed flowers including carnations and roses. In the centre is placed a miniature of a lady in a blue gown.
