Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in double running, cross, satin and trellis stitch. The sampler is made up of nine horizontal bands containing repeat border patterns, 'boxers', an alphabet, birds (with beads for eyes) and the inscription 'ANNE PHELPES 1661'.
