Maker: Wilmer, Mary
Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks and linen thread in cross, double running, eyelet and satin stitch with cutwork, needle weaving and needle lace stitches. There is a selvedge at the bottom edge, the top edge is cut and the sides are turned under and stitched. The sampler comprises 14 horizontal bands of repeat border patterns with an alphabet, the date '1667' and the inscription 'MARY WILMER Aged 9'.
