Maker: Seward, Eliabeth
Band sampler, yellow linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in double running, cross and filling stitches with detached needle lace stitches. There is a selvedge to the bottom edge, the other edges are turned under and stitched. The sampler comprises 12 horizontal bands of repeat geometric and stylized floral and figurative patterns, two alphabets, the date '1668' and the inscription 'ELIZABETH SEWARD'.
