Description

Band sampler, linen, embroidered with linen and silver metal thread in hem, double hem, Roumanian, satin and needle lace stitches. The sampler comprises 11 horizontal bands; the top five are worked in needlelace stitches, band six contains a wide and a narrow border design placed vertically, and bands seven to eleven contain further repeat patterns. At the bottom there is a space containing some experimental metal thread stitching.
