Band sampler, linen, embroidered with linen, polychrome silk and metal threads in buttonhole, cross, double hem, eyelet hole, double running and satin stitch. The sampler comprises 27 horizontal bands. From the top down the first 18 feature repeat border patterns; band 19 and 20 contain an alphabet and numerals; the remaining bands feature more repeat border patterns except band 21 and 27 which include the name ' CHRSTAN ANDrVS', the date '1687' and a heart.
