Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, darning, double running, satin and needle lace filling stitches. The sampler comprises twelve horizontal bands. The top seven contain repeat border patterns, bands eight to eleven have the inscription "ANNe MIChe e(or l)? THe DAUghter OF IOhN AND SArAh MIChee / eNded NOVeMber THE 21 BeiNg 11 YeaAs OF Age ANd / IN The 3 YeAr OF Her MAgisti ReigN QVeeN ANNe AND / IN The YeAR OF OUR LORD1705". Band twelve contains from left to right: a coronet, a lion, a crown and another coronet; the spaces in between the motifs are filled with strawberries.
