Description

Band sampler, linen, embroidered with linen thread in back and satin stitch with horizontal bands of cutwork rectangles and circles filled with holliepoint and needle lace stitches. The cut edges are roughly over sewn. There are various floral, figurative and geometric motifs depicted in addition to the initials 'S B' and the date '1737'.
